With the new season only two weeks ago, pre-season preparations for clubs up and down the country are well underway, and Bolton Wanderers are no different.

Phil Parkinson has had a pretty forgettable summer. The Lancashire side have been awash with financial issues.

The club’s players went on strike over unpaid wages, resulting in a friendly with St. Mirren being cancelled.

Bolton narrowly avoided an immediate return to League One last year, finishing two points and one place above the relegation zone.

Parkinson has only been able to make three signings so far this summer with Erhun Oztumer and Pawel Olkowski signing from Walsall and Cologne, respectively.

Yanic Wildschut is the third, arriving from Norwich City on loan.

For Bolton this season, the aim will be to consolidate and attempt to be further away from the relegation zone than they were last season.

To do that, they will need to bring in a few more players.

Here are three transfer deals Bolton and Parkinson should move quickly to complete ahead of the new season in two weeks.

Sunderland seem to be the biggest rivals to Bolton for the signature of the Bradford striker.

Wyke is a physical, brash forward in the target-man category.

Bolton lacked goals last term and will need to improve in that area if they are to move forward as a team.

Wyke managed 16 for Bradford in 43 appearances with the Bantams struggling to create much when the striker wasn’t playing.

He is an integral part of the Bradford side, but if Parkinson can coax him to the Macron in the next two weeks, then Wanderers will have a player that will improve them no end.

The Peterborough captain had an excellent year in League One last term.

Baldwin would add stability and leadership to a defence that was found wanting too many times last season.

The 24-year-old defender is in the last year of his contract at Peterborough, any player in their final year with the League One side; they are transfer listed.

Parkinson could be hopeful of securing a deal for the defender before the start of the new season.

The former Chelsea and Colchester goalkeeper is a free agent and played in a behind-closed-doors friendly for Bolton last week.

The 26-year-old keeper made 213 appearances for the Us in League One and League Two during his six years them.

Parkinson is in the market for a goalkeeper after Ben Amos was loaned out to Millwall for the forthcoming season.

Walker will be looking to impress to secure a deal and being at Bolton playing games is the best thing for him.

Walker needs a club, Bolton need a goalkeeper. Parkinson has the perfect scenario to judge the keeper head of the new season.

If it pays off, Bolton should snap up a player who was through exceptionally highly of during his time at Stamford Bridge.
