Plenty of Leeds United fans have taken to social media to discuss former player Bailey Peacock-Farrell, who put in an impressive performance for Northern Ireland against Germany on Monday night.
Michael O’Neill’s side fell to a 2-0 defeat to the Germans in their sixth European Championship qualifying match, thanks to goals from Marcel Halstenberg and Serge Gnabry.
But Peacock-Farrell kept his side in the game for the large part, pulling off some impressive saves to keep the scores down.
It has been a busy summer for Peacock-Farrell – the 22-year-old left Leeds and signed for Premier League side Burnley, after falling out of favour behind Kiko Casilla at Elland Road.
The goalkeeper was unhappy with his amount of game-time under Marcelo Bielsa, but is yet to make a first-team appearance for Sean Dyche’s side since making the move to Turf Moor.
After a solid display in midweek against Germany, Leeds have fans discussed whether the Whites let go of Peacock-Farrell too early, and whether they should have kept the goalkeeper given his lack of action at Burnley…
He’s not getting ahead of pope or hart at Burnley. Big mistake for his career that move. Only time you’ll see him this season is in internationals

No he wanted to go to get first team football so he left for a club where he is 3rd choice 🤔

It's not a mistake letting a player realise his ambition of going to the premier league rather than be stuck in the championship year after year after year.
