‘Wow’, ‘Shambles’ – Plenty of Sunderland fans aren’t happy with latest club announcement

Sunderland have announced that their game against Bristol Rovers later this month has been postponed due to members of their squad being called up for international duty.

Phil Parkinson’s side currently sit seventh in the League One table, and are already two games behind some of their promotion rivals heading towards the festive period.

So, it means that Sunderland will have to catch up the fixtures before the season draws to a conclusion, which could prove to be an issue in their bid for promotion this term.

One area where they would have been short in for the Bristol Rovers game was the goalkeeping position, with Lee Burge currently out injured and Jon McLaughlin recently being called up to the Northern Ireland squad.

It means that they’ll temporarily fall further behind the promotion-chasing pack in League One, but Parkinson will be hoping his side can benefit from a rest over the international break.

Plenty of Sunderland fans took to Twitter to voice their opinions on this latest announcement.
