‘Wow,’ ‘My club’ – Many AFC Wimbledon fans react to exciting club tweet

AFC Wimbledon will be looking to continue their unbeaten run when they host Doncaster Rovers on Tuesday evening – but tonight is no ordinary League One fixture.
That’s because the Dons play their first match back at Plough Lane since a 3-0 Division One defeat to Crystal Palace back in May 1991, and in their shiny new 9,300-seater stadium, too.
It’s been a long journey for Wimbledon, who’ve been temporarily playing at Kingsmeadow since they started life back in the ninth tier of English football eighteen years ago, although their four home fixtures this season were hosted by QPR’s Loftus Road across London.
There will be no fans at Plough Lane this evening, following all matches being played behind close doors due to the Coronavirus pandemic, but that didn’t stop the Dons faithful from being in party mood ahead of the clash with Donny.
Wimbledon put out a clear message on their social media account this morning, which read: “WE ARE BACK, WE ARE HOME, WE ARE AFC WIMBLEDON”.
To say that Dons supporters were excited would be an understatement.

Have supported Wimbledon for 60+ years as has my brother who goes to every match possible and is now watching on IFollow. I have lived in W Country for 30+ years but have still been to matches when in London. Congrats on returning to Plough Lane bigger and better than ever.
