Middlesbrough have had their fair share of players that have gone on to play at a higher level since leaving the Riverside, but some have done better than others.

Barcelona have recently announced that they have completed a deal to sign Martin Braithwaite, who arrives from Spanish side CD Leganés.

The forward has been in impressive form this season, and has hit eight goals so far this term, and he'll be hoping he can make an instant impact with the European giants.

Braithwaite had previously played for Middlesbrough before moving to CD Leganés in 2019, after falling out of favour at the Riverside.

He scored nine goals in 40 appearances in total for Boro, and the club's supporters will surely feel as though he was one of the players they've made a mistake in moving on in the past.

Plenty of Middlesbrough fans took to the 'Middlesbrough Football Club' Facebook group to issue their thoughts on the completion of Braithwaite's move to Barcelona.

Take a look at the best of the reaction from Facebook below....

Stephen Ferguson: "Incredible."

Dave Tomlinson: "He's done well I think over there. Fair play to him."

Gary Broughton: "Wow."

Steven Vaughan: "Pulis finished him right off."

Karl Coleman: "Yet Pulis didn’t want to play him. No point crying over spilt milk like at least we get another 4-5 million on the bank."

Pete Lewis: "And he wasn't good enough to play for Boro."

Steve Morley: "Nice bit of cash off the deal."
