West Bromwich Albion are reportedly still interested in signing Besiktas’ €10 million (£8.99m) rated centre-back, Domagoj Vida, this summer, which has drawn an interesting reaction from fans of the Midlands club.
The Baggies were frontrunners for promotion to the Premier League before the 2019/20 campaign was halted and will likely have been using the time to outline their transfer strategy for the upcoming window.
It is understood that Besiktas are keen to reduce their wage bill ahead of next season and are therefore looking to offload the 31-year-old, who is their highest earner.
The Croatian international has two years left on his current deal with the Turkish club, who are believed to value him at €10 million (£8.99m).
West Brom may face some competition in their pursuit of Vida as it is understood that Arsenal are among the Premier League clubs interested in signing him this summer.
The central defender has made 31 appearances for Besiktas this term, scoring four times, and helping them to climb to fifth in the Super Lig.
Semi Ajayi and Kyle Bartley have been the Baggies first-choice centre-back pair this term – with the duo missing just six Championship games between them.
Do you know where these 18 ex-West Brom players are playing now? Have a go now!
It appears Slaven Bilic is keen to strengthen at the position ahead of a potential return to the Premier League.
The interest in Vida appears to have caught the attention of Baggies fans, plenty of whom have taken to Twitter to voice their thoughts.
