Sheffield Wednesday’s frustrating start to the season continued, as they were beaten 3-0 by Rotherham United at the New York Stadium. 

A brace from Jamie Lindsay, and a penalty from Dan Barlaser pick up a comfortable three points on the night, with Garry Monk’s side also having Tom Lees sent-off shortly before half-time.

The defeat means that Sheffield Wednesday remain rooted to the bottom of the Championship table, and now find themselves nine points adrift of safety.

Another concerning sight for the Owls in the defeat to the Millers was summer signing Aden Flint being forced off through injury after just 17 minutes.

Flint had settled into the Owls squad well, and has made four appearances in total for his new club, whilst on loan from Cardiff City.

It remains to be seen as to what the extent of Flint’s injury is, but the Hillsborough faithful will be keen to see him return to action at the earliest of opportunities.
