Lewis Baker has cut his loan spell at Leeds United short, with the 23-year-old midfielder opting for a move across the Championship to link up with Reading FC.  

Leeds announced the news this afternoon on Twitter, confirming that Baker had been recalled by Chelsea after just two starts in the opening 26 Championship fixtures of the season.

In both those starts, Baker was axed by Marcelo Bielsa at half-time, with the midfielder struggling to have any impact at all whilst at LS11.

Immediately, Reading have confirmed the arrival of Baker, with Jose Gomes wasting no time in adding the former England youth international to his squad at the Madejski Stadium.

The majority of Leeds’ supporters have accepted the decision, with Baker not really pushing for a place in the starting XI.

However, some were quick to fire a warning to Reading about the player they’ve just signed.
