Striker Eoin Doyle has left Bolton Wanderers to join St Patrick’s Athletic in his native Ireland, the League One club have confirmed.
Doyle joined Bolton from Swindon Town last summer, and scored 19 goals to help fire the club to promotion from League Two at the first time of asking during his debut campaign with the Trotters.
However, the striker struggled to maintain that form in League One this season, scoring just five goals in 21 third-tier matches.
As a result, Doyle has now headed for pastures new, with Bolton swooping to sign another forward in the form of Dion Charles from Accrington Stanley earlier this month.
Having secured his departure from Bolton, Doyle has returned to hometown club St Patrick’s Athletic on a long-term deal, after 18 months with the Trotters.
Which club did Bolton sign these 28 midfielders from?
Taking to Twitter to react to news of Doyle’s departure, plenty of Bolton fans were keen to give their thoughts on the move, and the striker’s time at the club.
Here, we take a look at what some of those Wanderers supporters had to say.
Eoin was a major signing for us and he lived up to his billing with his 19 goals last year and played pivotal part in our promotion campaign, i wish him all the best at his new club.

Disappointed but can understand his reasons. Always backed him one hundred percent, grafter, goal scorer and knows how to celebrate promotion outside a hotel!
All the best Doyler, thanks for the goals

One thing you can say about him is he is a solid professional. Scored goals when we needed him to and, without him, there is no doubt we would still be in L2. All the best Doylaaaaar
