Wolverhampton Wanderers currently sit in second spot in the Sky Bet Championship after a blistering start to the season.

Nuno Santo has transformed the Black Country side and they now look like genuine contenders for promotion to the Premier League.

With an influx of talent from across Europe in the Summer, the Wolves side is one of the most expensive sides in the league.

But you have to wonder, if they don't get promoted this season, will there be a mass exodus of players in the summer?

We take a look...

That must be playing on their minds.

Wolves have a fantastic squad dotted with Premier League level talent and so if they don't reach the top flight, how long are these players going to stay around?

Most of them are young so time is on their side but they'll be well aware of the interest coming from some of the big names and with the likes of Ruben Vinagre on loan, there's a pretty easy route for them to move on.

Wolves must be wary.

Without a doubt, and every fan should know that.

Ruben Neves, Diogo Jota, Helder Costa and many more don't expect to be playing in the Championship for too long. They will be in the Premier League next year - with or without Wolves.

This shouldn't alarm fans, it's how football works nowadays and Wolves are sure to make a profit on the players they've signed permanently.

Then, they'll use Jorge Mendes and try and do it again. Life won't be dull at Molineux.

It is something that will be a slight worry to Wolves’ supporters.

The likes of Helder Costa, Ruben Neves, Diogo Jota, Ivan Cavaleiro and Leo Bonatini certainly have the ability to play in the top-flight, and their loyalty to Wolves would be seriously tested if the club failed in their quest for promotion this season.

You’d like to think players would remain loyal, but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see them leave.
