This weekend sees the climax of the regular football season in League One, with several key issues still to be decided.

As ever, it's the battle at the bottom set to dominate the final day's news. Any three of six teams could still feasibly go down, although Wycombe will consider themselves safe unless there's a huge goal swing.

The clash of the day takes place at Home Park, where Plymouth and Scunthorpe sit in the bottom four and face off in a real relegation battle. The winner stands a chance of staying up, even a point might be enough for Plymouth but one of the two teams will definitely go down.

Both have had disappointing seasons after being in or around the top six in 2017/18. Scunthorpe were beaten play-off semi-finalists, Plymouth on the cusp of the hunt all season. The Iron have suffered from changing managers and losing key players, whilst Plymouth have perhaps suffered from not changing manager and keeping much the same squad.

The route for both has led to the bottom four and the final day showdown, but we've challenged ourselves to pick a combined XI from the two squads that might just have enough to remain in League One.

We think any side wanting to stay up in this division needs to make the best of their attacking players and both the Iron and Pilgrims have some genuine talent. For that reason, we're going with a 4-1-4-1 formation.

In goal Rangers keeper Jak Alnwick just shades it from Matt Macey, but in front of him it's very much a Plymouth defence. Yann Songo'o isn't fit at the moment, but he plays with his heart on his sleeve and would likely captain this side. The full backs are both Plymouth, Gary Sawyer has loads of experience and Smith-Brown, on loan from Man City, is a real talent.

We've gone for Rory McCardle in the middle of defence and ahead of him, Iron team mate Funso Ojo sits at the base of the midfield. That role, much like the Kalvin Phillips role at Leeds, would be vital to holding our side together.

We've gone for Manchester United loanee Cameron Borthwick-Jackson on one flank, with Graham Carey on the other. The beauty of these players, as well as the two we've got centrally, is they could swap around. Borthwick-Jackson has been playing full back for Scunthorpe, but we think his attacking instinct would serve us well.

On their day, Josh Morris and Ruben Lameiras could fit into 99% of sides in League One, without a doubt. Both have incredible talent and would get ahead of our lone front man to add real goal threat.

We've gone for Freddie Ladapo up front and this is the one area where our combined XI might lack quality. He's into double figures, but neither side have a striker who would be reliable in a relegation battle and that is why they're fighting for their lives tomorrow.
