Stoke City have endured a rotten start to the season, with Nathan Jones' 17side rooted to the bottom of the Championship with only one point gained in five league fixtures, with the only bright spot coming in a penalty shoot-out win over Leeds United in the second round of the Carabao Cup.

One player who has mainly been used from the Potters' bench is 19-year-old striker Tyrese Campbell who is a product of the Manchester City and Stoke youth set-ups, before signing a senior contract at the bet365 Stadium in 2018.

Last season he spent the second half of the season on-loan at Shrewsbury Town, though as of this season has found it a struggle to get in the Stoke team ahead of Lee Gregory, Scott Hogan and Sam Vokes.

So is Campbell a player that Stoke should be looking to send out on loan before the transfer deadline?

We discuss........

Toby Wilding

“I don’t think they should.

“For all the recruitment they did over the summer, the Potters’ attack has yet to really fire in the current campaign, and that will be a concern given the problems it caused them last season.

“You feel therefore that they may want to keep as many attacking options as possible at the club in order to allow them to search for the best possible way to rectify that problem in front of goal.

“Indeed, Campbell did seem to cause problems for Leeds at times during the League Cup clash on Tuesday night, and that may convince Nathan Jones and co. to give him an opportunity in a league situation sooner rather than later.”

Josh Cole

“Letting Campbell leave on loan would be a grave error by Stoke manager Nathan Jones.

“One of the club’s most exciting young prospects, the forward was fantastic during the Potters’ Carabao Cup victory over Leeds United and looks more than ready to make a real impact in the second-tier.

“Although Campbell benefited considerably from a short spell away from the bet365 Stadium last season, Stoke can ill-afford to let him leave again given just how precarious their situation in the Championship is.

“Currently bottom of the league standings, the Potters need all the help that they can get in an attacking sense and thus Jones should be looking to integrate Campbell into his first-team plans over the coming weeks.”

"No chance at all.

"Stoke have a lot of problems right now and they need all the help they can get, so sending an exciting talent like Campbell on loan would not make sense.

"He proved against Leeds last night that he has a lot to offer, with his fine run setting up Sam Vokes for the Potters second on the night.

"There's no doubt that he's not the finished article but the teenager has pace, power and can score goals. With some of the more senior options in Nathan Jones' squad struggling, I wouldn't be surprised to see Campbell get a run in the team over the coming months."
