Football League World's Bristol City fan pundit Ian Gay has revealed the two players he wants to see tied down to new deals at the club after Joe Morrell committed his future.

It was announced via the club website on Wednesday evening that Morrell had signed an extension keeping him at Ashton Gate until 2022 and Gay now wants to see the same happen with Liam Walsh and Famara Diedhiou.

"Most of the younger players have now committed long term," the regular punter told Football League World.

"However, Liam Walsh would be one I would like to see the club tie down to a long-term deal and possibly Famara Diedhiou as well."

Can you name every top Bristol City goalscorer from the last 15 seasons?

22-year-old Morrell has only made six first-team apperances for the Robins throughout his career having been shipped out on loan to the likes of Sutton, Margate and Cheltenham prior to his current move to Lincoln.

Since joining the Imps he has racked up 17 appearances and even made his debut for the Wales national side.

Walsh, 22, is currently out on loan with Coventry City in League One, scoring twice in ten appearances, whilst Diedhiou remains a key part of Lee Johnson's first-team squad and has scored three times in 11 games.

This weekend sees Bristol City welcome Nottingham Forest to Ashton Gate in what is sure to be a stern test of Lee Johnson's side's promotion credentials.

They currently sit in sixth place in the second tier but know that a win could bring them level on points with second-placed Preston.
