Three established managers were interested in taking over from Sabri Lamouchi at Nottingham Forest in October, according to The Athletic.

After capitulating on the final day of last season and missing out on a play-off place, the pressure had mounted on Lamouchi heading into this season.

The Reds lost their first four Championship games this season, too, subsequently culminating in Lamouchi's departure and leaving Forest on the lookout for a new boss.

Warburton? Karanka? Who was the Nottingham Forest manager when each of these 15 Forest moments happened?

Chris Hughton was announced as Forest's new manager nearly half-an-hour after Lamouchi's exit was confirmed, after having a manager lined up for a few days before.

According to The Athletic, Eddie Howe, Sam Allardyce and Nigel Pearson were all interested in taking over at the City Ground, as well as a manager from another Championship side.

Howe is a manager who plenty of Forest fans wanted to see the club appoint back in October, mainly because of the job he did at Bournemouth in guiding them from League Two to the Premier League.

Here, we take a look at their reactions to this emerging report...
