Derby County manager Frank Lampard has a battle on his hands if he wishes to land current Wigan striker Nick Powell on a free transfer in the summer, with a host of clubs both at home and abroad queuing up to sign the 25-year-old, according to TEAMtalk.

Despite Wigan having a poor season, Powell has performed well and with his contract expiring at the end of the season, a move away from the DW Stadium looks certain.

So, would Powell get into Derby's starting XI if he made the move to Pride park in the summer?

We discuss........

George Harbey

"He would be a perfect signing and would go straight into the starting XI.

"He would be the perfect replacement for Mason Mount if goes back to Chelsea permanently, as he scores plenty of goals and produced plenty of assists in midfield.

"It would be utterly bizarre if he didn't start week in, week out."

Gary Hutchinson

“Yes.

“Even with the loan players they have, there would be room for Powell.

“On his day, in a proper attacking side, he gets 15 goals and 15 assists a season.

“What side outside the top six wouldn’t find a place for a player like that?”

Jacob Potter

"I don’t think he’d be a guaranteed starter here.

"Derby already have a number of strong attacking options and I can’t see him being able to force his way into the side ahead of Jack Marriott and Martin Waghorn.

"Surely there is a better team for him in the summer?"
