Blackburn Rovers will be determined to make a positive start to life under the guidance of their new manager Jon Dahl Tomasson when they host Queens Park Rangers at Ewood Park on Saturday.

Ahead of this fixture, Rovers have managed to bolster their squad by securing the services of two players.

Ethan Walker sealed a move to Blackburn in May while the club signed Callum Brittain on a permanent deal from Barnsley earlier this month.

Having put pen-to-paper on a four-year deal, Brittain will now be aiming to establish himself as a key member of Rovers' squad.

Drafted in as a replacement for Ryan Nyambe who recently secured a move to Wigan Athletic, it will be interesting to see whether the right-back is given the nod to feature this weekend by Tomasson.

Making reference to Brittain, FLW's Blackburn Rovers fan pundit Toby Wilding has admitted that it would be surprising if the 24-year-old wasn't handed his competitive debut against West Brom.

Speaking to FLW, Wilding said: "I would be surprised if Brittain wasn't starting for Blackburn on Saturday.

"He's a man who has been brought in to replace your first-choice right-back at the club in Ryan Nyambe now that he's moved on.

"So that's the role he's here to do.

"I think as well, when you consider the fact that they are already talking about a potential loan departure for James Brown now that Brittain has come in, it seems clear that Brittain is going to be that main man in that position.

"So, it would certainly make sense to start him on Saturday, especially considering the immediate impact that he made coming off the bench at half-time at Lincoln in the friendly at the weekend with that brilliant assist for Bradley Dack.

"That sort of suggests that he's settling in quickly and he's already showing he can make an impact for this team.

"So, for me, it would be a big surprise if he wasn't to be one of those names on the team-sheet come Saturday afternoon."
