Sheffield United are reportedly interested in signing Huddersfield Town midfielder Lewis O’Brien according The Sun (19/04, page 58).
O’Brien has been a rare bright spark in a disappointing season for the Terriers on the whole, with Danny Cowley’s side sat 18th in the Championship table, and just three points clear of the relegation zone with nine games remaining in this year’s campaign.
The youngster has made 30 appearances for Huddersfield Town this season, and has been on hand to chip in with two goals and three assists in all competitions this term.
The report from The Sun claims that Chris Wilder’s side are keen to get a bargain deal over the line, with recent off-the-field events likely to cause a drop in valuations of players across the globe.
A move to Bramall Lane could be a tempting proposition for O’Brien as well, with the Blades currently sat seventh in the table, in what is their first season back in the Premier League.
Plenty of Terriers supporters took to the ‘Huddersfield Town – Championship Banter Group’ and ‘Huddersfield Town Family’ Facebook Groups to issue their thoughts on O’Brien’s rumoured exit this summer.
Take a look at the best of the reaction below….
Ben Emms: “Keep him or ask for 15million.”
Steve Shaw: “I’d be surprised if any clubs can afford to pay a fee after this is over.”
Andy Bo: “200 Million quid. In other words we need him at Town.”
Ian Lawton: “They want him on the cheap. If he is being sold should not be on the cheap.”
Harry Moorhouse: “If we have any ambition we shouldn’t be selling anybody bar for the dead wood.”
Jordan Taylor: “I’d take no less than £50 million.”
David Smith: “Lets hope this doesn’t happen. He’s one of our better players.”
Steve King: “As much as I hate to say it he would be perfect for them, energy would really suit their style. Would be asking for 1£5m though.”
Craig Williamson: “I don’t think he will leave this season. However I bet we will sell £20m of players for next few seasons, each year? He has to be worth £10m plus at moment and I think he has potential for £15m plus?”
