Charlton Athletic beat Luton Town 3-1 in the Championship today.

Lee Bowyer's side welcomed a resurgent Luton who'd won their last two games to nil. Both were looking to ease relegation fears, but it was Charlton who struck first through Lyle Taylor.

The 29-year-old continued to show his importance to Charlton with his tenth league goal in 19 appearances after half-an-hour, but the Hatters were back on level terms after only two minutes - Harry Cornick scoring his eighth of the campaign.

Midway through the second-half Charlton were in front, and Taylor claimed his second of the afternoon from the penalty spot. George Lapslie's shot minutes after coming on hit the hand of Luton's James Collins, and there was no doubt around the decision.

Lapslie then scored his first of the season, and Charlton's third of the afternoon to hand the Addicks a hugely important win in their fight for survival.
