Newcastle United manager Steve Bruce could reportedly be replaced at the end of the season and plenty of Sheffield Wednesday fans are calling for him to return to Hillsborough.

Bruce walked away from Wednesday to join Newcastle last summer, leaving them managerless with just three weeks to go before the start of the season.

The 59-year-old arrived at Hillsborough at the start of 2019 and had an impressive start to life at the club, taking over when they were 17th and leading them to an 11th-place finish last season.

It looked as if Wednesday were set to head into the current campaign with Bruce in charge but he left the club controversially to move to Newcastle in the middle of pre-season.

Caretaker boss Lee Bullen did an excellent job of stepping in at the start of the 2019/20 campaign, while Garry Monk's tenure has been up and down.

Bruce's time at St James' Park has been similar but it appears his days could be numbered at the North East club.

A Saudi-backed consortium is understood to be close to a £300 million takeover of Newcastle and Sky Sports has reported that Bruce could be replaced at the end of the season.

Has Fernando Forestieri done these 11 things at Sheffield Wednesday? Have a go now!

That has drawn an interesting reaction from many Wednesday fans, with some calling for him to come back to Hillsborough.
