Many Nottingham Forest fans have taken to Facebook to debate whether the club should pursue a deal for Brighton & Hove Albion striker Glenn Murray.

According to The Sun journalist Alan Nixon, the Reds are reportedly eyeing up a swoop for the 36-year-old this month who has been made surplus to requirements by the Seagulls.

Certainly no stranger to the Championship, Murray has played 143 games in this particular division in which he has scored 67 goals.

Although the forward has struggled to make an impact for Brighton this season due to the presence of Neal Maupay, he will be confident in his ability to take the second-tier by storm if he does indeed decide to agree to a move to the City Ground.

Having cut ties with Rafa Mir yesterday following the Spaniard's unsuccessful loan spell from Wolverhampton Wanderers, Forest are currently short of attacking options and thus Murray may be able to solve this issue.

Here are some of the best responses from the club's supporters...

Sam George: "He would be brilliant and would offer us something different for the last 20-25 mins in games."

Lee Batty: "Prefer Che Adams or Dwight Gayle, but think Murray would be a decent player to take the pressure off Lewis Grabban."

Graham Eaton: "Ideal solution to the problem of not having a back up for Grabban."

Andrew Johno Johnson: "Shows lack of ambition."

Scott Hickenbottom: "We need two strikers."

Michael Ditchfield: "Until the end of the season yes decent signing.

"Any longer I'm not keen as I imagine he will command fairly high wages."

Ashley Dry: "Murray is the best option.

"I would bring Tyler Walker back as well.

"Gayle is far too expensive and is also injured."

Andy Staniforth: "Yes, he can score goals!

"Proven Championship goalscorer."

Glyn Beardsley: "Different dimension, can score goals."
