West Brom are said to be interested in signing Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall according to a recent report from The Sun.

It is claimed that West Brom's technical and sporting director Luke Dowling watched Worrall in action against Wycombe Wanderers recently, in a match that the Reds won 3-0 at Adams Park.

The Sun also report that West Brom will make their move for Worrall regardless of whether they're playing in the Premier League or Championship next season.

The Baggies are sat 19th in the top-flight standings, and are 11 points adrift of safety under the management of Sam Allardyce.

Worrall has made 18 appearances for Nottingham Forest in all competitions this season, and will be hoping that he can play his part in their bid for survival.

It's been a frustrating league campaign so far for the Reds, with Chris Hughton's side currently sat 18th in the Championship, and four points clear of the relegation zone after 28 matches.

But would Worrall be a good addition to the West Brom team and is he needed?

We discuss....

George Harbey:

Worrall would be an incredible signing for West Brom. He is one of the best defenders in the Championship for sure, but I cannot see this one happening.

West Brom may be a Premier League club at the moment, but relegation to the Championship looks likely, so you have to question whether it would be a step up or not.

Realistically, Forest and West Brom are going to be sharing the same ambitions next season. Ignite a play-off push and fight for promotion back to the Premier League.

I just can’t see Worrall leaving his boyhood club for a similar sized club in West Brom, especially with Chris Hughton getting the best out of him of late and giving him the captain’s armband.

Money talks of course, and if West Brom can offer £10million with their parachute payments, then it may give Forest something to think about.

But it would have to take a hell of a lot for Forest to cash in.

Phil Spencer:

I think this would be an excellent move for West Brom.

Joe Worrall is a player that is regarded as one of the best defenders in the Championship and in my opinion he's ready to make that step up to the next level.

He'd have hoped to be doing it with Nottingham Forest but with the greatest of respect it seems unlikely to happen.

Regardless of whether West Brom are in the Premier League or Championship next term I think that Worrall would be a top addition and as long as Forest can get a decent return for the play I see this as a win-win.

Chris Thorpe:

His form hasn't been the best this season, however there is no doubting Worrall's quality when he is on-song.

He'd be a good addition for the Baggies however I'm not entirely sure if he is needed.

Kyle Bartley and Semi Ajayi are a pretty solid partnership at the heart of defence, meaning he could well struggle to break into the side at the Hawthorns.

This is certainly one to keep an eye on next summer and I wouldn't be at all surprised if he made the move even if West Brom are relegated to the Championship.
