Sky Bet Championship side Stoke City are reportedly interested in signing Southampton forward Charlie Austin.

The Potters, who are also interested in Burnley's Sam Vokes, are looking to bring in the experienced forward, who has been a real success at Championship level in the past.

The 29-year old has fallen out of favour at Southampton this term, scoring just three goals in 18 games, and has been told he can depart the club this month, with Wolves also interested in signing the powerful forward.

Here though, we discuss whether he'd be a good signing for Stoke...

George Harbey

"I think this would be an incredible signing for Stoke.

"Austin has been a clinical goalscorer at this level in the past, and he could definitely replicate that goalscoring form for Nathan Jones.

"He isn't too old, and he could be a really shrewd addition."

Gary Hutchinson

"Not for me - he's far too much like Afobe.

"Is it the end for the £5m summer signing?

"It could be if this move goes ahead."

Lee Connor

"Undecided for me, something smarts of Stoke just wanting to add another Premier League face to the ranks when it hasn't work thus far.

"Austin is a good striker for sure, but I'm not sure he's what Stoke need at the minute.

"Saying that, new manager Jones should be backed with his own players, and if he wants Austin, then the club should go for it."
