West Ham united have reportedly entered the race to sign Brentford winger Said Benrahma according to The Mirror.

Benrahma has been in impressive form this season for the Championship side, having scored 17 goals and providing nine assists for his Brentford team-mates.

It is claimed that any potential move by the Hammers will happen if Brentford are to miss out on promotion into the Premier League this term.

Chelsea and Arsenal have previously been interested in a deal to sign the Algerian winger, who clearly has a decision to make on his future with the Bees.

The Mirror have also claimed that the likes of Felipe Anderson, Andriy Yarmolenko and Albian Ajeti could be sold to raise the funds for any deal for Benrahma.

But would the in-form winger be a good addition to David Moyes' squad?

We discuss....

George Harbey:

This would be an incredible coup for West Ham.

Benrahma might be a Championship player at present, but I strongly believe that he is a player who is capable of standing out for a top-half Premier League side.

West Ham have had their struggles over the past few years, and they have lacked that creative talisman since Dimitri Payet's controversial departure from the London Stadium, and the likes of Felipe Anderson and Pablo Fornals have flattered to deceive at times.

Benrahma is an exceptional player who is blessed with ability, though, and he could help West Ham turn their fortunes around, for sure.

Sam Rourke:

He'd be a corker of a signing.

Benrahma has been arguably the best player in the Championship this season, with his dazzling trickery and eye for a goal standing out considerably.

With it looking like Felipe Anderson may depart the Hammers this summer, the Algerian would be a top class replacement and has the ability to win a game on his own - something that will appeal to a lot of clubs.

There have been a number of elite clubs linked with the 24-year-old over the last few months, so I have no doubt West Ham would face a fight to secure his signature.

But for me, the player would be a guaranteed starter at West Ham, and if he can emulate the form he's showcased at the Bees this season, he'd be a real hit at the London Stadium.

Ned Holmes:

Yes, I think this would be a fantastic signing for the Hammers.

Benrahma's performances for Brentford over the past few years have been outstanding but he's taken a step up this term and has thrived in the absence of Neal Maupay.

He's got everything you'd look for in a winger – fast, direct, skillful, a great crosser of the ball, and he knows where the goal is.

If Brentford don't win promotion through the play-offs, it shouldn't be too hard to prize him away from Griffin Park.

The winger deserves his chance in the Premier League and at just 24, could be a star if he can improve over the next few years.
