According to reports from The Sun, Premier League side Arsenal are set to let forward Eddie Nketiah depart the Emirates Stadium on loan this summer, with Championship side Bristol City believed to be at the front of the queue.

The 20-year-old made good strides under Unai Emery last season, with the young striker making nine appearances in all competitions for the Gunners.

Five of those appearances came in the Premier League, and he netted his first top-flight goal in a 3-1 win over Burnley in the final league game of the season.

But the next stage of his development could result in him being sent out on loan next season, with Bristol City reportedly leading the chase to land the England under-20 international.

After producing some very talented youngsters over the last few years, the likes of Bobby Reid and Antoine Semenyo being the most recent, the Robins have a reputation for getting the best out of these kind of players.

Here, we discuss whether Nketiah would be a good signing for Lee Johnson's side...

Alfie Burns

“This would be an excellent signing for the Robins – they need another forward to match their stellar work in the transfer window so far, and Nketiah could well be the man.

"At 20, he’s got a lot to learn about his game, but a manager like Lee Johnson would help develop the Arsenal youngster and you could see him being a real success at Ashton Gate.

"Plenty of Championship clubs would jump at the chance to work with the 20-year-old on the back of the Toulon Tournament, and Bristol City are likely to be edging out a couple of their play-off rivals.

"I’m really starting to fancy the Robins for the top-six and they could make a real statement against Leeds on the opening weekend.”

Ben Lang

"The Robins could definitely do with adding another striker to their ranks, and Nketiah would be an excellent option.

"He was in and around Unai Emery's first-team plans at the Emirates last season, which means he should now be ready to make a big impact with a top Championship side. I can really see him staking a claim for a starting spot in the Robins' starting line-up.

"I also think Nketiah's pace means he is the mould of striker who would fit in well with Johnson's brand of quick attacking football. His loan situation also has similarities to that of Tammy Abraham during his season at City, and that move turned out to be a masterstroke. Much like Abraham did, Nketiah may just need a season of regular senior football to show what he can do.

"Nketiah would definitely be an exciting addition, and it has all the ingredients to end being a move that satisfies all parties."

George Harbey

"Nketiah is a player who has come on leaps and bounds under Unai Emery, and I am actually quite surprised to see him being made available for loan this summer.

"He looked really bright in the Premier League and the Europa League last season - the step up in class from the reserves didn't seem to bother him at all, and he looked really sharp up top.

"He would be a fantastic addition at Ashton Gate, as he offers something that the likes of Famara Diedhiou don't up front, pace, agility and trickery.

"From an Arsenal perspective, Bristol City are definitely the right club to be sending out youngsters to, given how well they have treated younger players in recent years."
