According to reports from the Daily Record, Sunderland are set to go head-to-head with SPFL champions Celtic in the race to sign Kilmarnock's Greg Taylor.

The 21-year-old has made a total of over 130 appearances for Killie, and played an influential role in helping them qualify for the Europa League in what was a hugely impressive 2018/19 campaign.

The left-back has been strongly linked with a move to Celtic Park in recent times, with reports claiming that Neil Lennon's have submitted a £3m bid for the highly-rated defender.

But the Hoops may now have to face competition from Sunderland for Taylor's signature, as Jack Ross looks to add reinforcements to the left-back position.

The Black Cats have bid farewell to Bryan Oviedo and Reece James this summer, with the pair moving to FC Copenhagen and Doncaster Rovers respectively.

They have recently been linked with a move to sign Sheffield Wednesday defender Morgan Fox, but Owls interim boss Lee Bullen has poured cold water on the speculation.
