Sheffield Wednesday attacker Adam Reach is a target for Aston Villa as they look to spearhead a charge into the play-offs.

The Daily Star (January 8, page 45) reports that Dean Smith is looking to the club soon to be managed by former Villa boss Steve Bruce to add to his side.

It has been suggested that the Hillsborough club want around £10millon for the 25-year-old who has six Championship goals in 27 appearances.

The scorer of the occasional thunderbolt, Reach has been one of the Owl’s best performers this term despite their lowly league position.

And Sheffield Wednesday, as claimed in the Daily Star, will have their resolve tested with Villa looking to add to their attacking options to make it to the post-season lottery.

With that said, we posed the question to our team of FLW writers and asked them if it would be a good move for Aston Villa in their potential pursuit for Reach.

Here is what they said…

Jacob Potter

"This would be exactly what Villa need.

"Reach has the creativity and goal threat to change the course of a game on his own and he would fit perfectly into Dean Smith's side.

"He might cost quite a bit, but it would be worth it if he can continue his impressive start to this year's campaign."

George Harbey

"What a signing this would be for Villa.

"Reach has been superb for Wednesday this season and would undoubtedly fit into any team in the Championship.

"What an option he’d be for Villa to have."

Jay Taylor

"This could be the difference in them making the play-offs and missing out.

"Adam Reach would be a star at Villa Park, and I think he would flourish on that stage for a club that side.

"Dean Smith is known for clever additions from his Brentford days, and this would be an Aston Villa equivalent.

"I think this is a move that certainly needs to happen."
