Huddersfield Town manager Danny Cowley will know he needs to see an upturn in form over the second half of the season if he is to see his side avoid a relegation battle, with the Terriers precariously positioned above the Championship drop zone.
One option Huddersfield are considering, according to TEAMtalk, is a move for Spurs defender Cameron Carter-Vickers who is looking for another loan move after his Stoke City switch was cut short, after he fell down the pecking order under Potters boss Michael O’Neill.
So would Carter-Vickers prove a good addition at the John Smiths Stadium and is he actually needed by Cowley’s side?
“Carter-Vickers would be a solid signing for many Championship sides including Huddersfield, but I’m not sure Danny Cowley now needs to add any more defender’s to his side’s ranks.
“The Terriers have already added Richard Stearman and Harry Toffolo to the squad this window, and these signings mean Cowley is now looking pretty well stocked in defence for the remainder of the campaign.
“Huddersfield should instead be targeting attacking players who can make a difference in the final third for the relegation strugglers, with this being the area where Huddersfield are most likely to struggle from now on.
“However, there can be no doubt that Carter-Vickers would provide a stable defensive option for the Terriers, but I just think the club should have other priorities for now given the limited time left in the window.”

“I like this move from Huddersfield and I think he is someone that could help them kick on and secure survival.
“It’s been a busy month for the Terriers as Danny Cowley looks to make changes to the squad after taking over in October. That has seen a number of players leave, including defender Terrence Kongolo.
“Huddersfield have seen their squad decimated by injury issues this season so adding more depth makes a lot of sense for me, particularly with Kongolo out on loan at Fulham.
“Carter-Vickers has proven himself at this level before and would be a fantastic addition to the Huddersfield squad.”
“Danny Cowley is clearly looking for ways to improve his current squad during the present transfer window and a move for Carter-Vickers would certainly make a lot of sense for the Terriers after loaning out Terence Kongolo to Fulham.
“Given that his side have already shipped north of 40 goals this campaign, it is clear the former Lincoln boss is looking for a solution to keep things tight at the back in the next few months.
“A loan move for the Tottenham youngster would represent something of a low cost – low risk transfer which could really galvanize the rest of the squad towards getting out of their current predicament.
“The American would be afforded the game time he craves in order to make an impression on Jose Mourinho and Huddersfield would be acquiring a player who has past Championship experience with Ipswich, Swansea and Stoke City.”
