Sky Bet Championship side Queens Park Rangers have reportedly made contact with Troyes manager Rui Almeida regarding the vacant managerial role at Loftus Road, according to Football.London.

The 49-year-old is currently the manager of French side Troyes AC, with the club sitting fifth in the Ligue 2 standings after an impressive season thus far.

The Portuguese manager is yet to manage in England despite managing the likes of Bastia and Red Star in France, but has now emerged as a contender to succeed Steve McClaren in West London.

Here, we discuss this potential appointment...

George Harbey

"This would be a risky move by the club.

"Almeida is clearly a very good manager over in France, however, English football is a completely different kettle of fish altogether.

"There are better options out there right now, in my opinion."

Jacob Potter

"I'm really not convinced this is the right move.

"QPR aren't exactly clear of relegation trouble and they surely needed to appoint a manager with proven experience in the Championship.

"This is a risky move that wouldn't fill me with confidence."

Toby Wilding

"This may not be a bad appointment for QPR.

"Almeida has done well since arriving at Troyes in the summer, keeping them in the battle for an immediate return to Ligue 1 following relegation last season, so he knows what it takes to compete outside the top tier of league football.

"The fact that he has never managed in England could be a concern, but he wouldn't be the first and certainly won't be the last to take that step."
