Nottingham Forest have made an official bid to sign Boavista right-back Reggie Cannon, according to 90min.com.
The USA international has recently emerged as a target for the Reds, as Chris Hughton continues to scan the market and looks to add to his squad.
Cannon joined Boavista from FC Dallas for around $3.5million last summer, making 33 appearances for the Portuguese side in all competitions last season.
The right-back, who has 22 caps for USA, is now wanted by Nottingham Forest, who are now said to have made a bid for the defender.

Forest brought in their third signing of the summer last week, with another right-back in Jordi Osei-Tutu arriving on loan from Arsenal.
Cannon would provide further competition to that role, then, and his arrival could potentially lead to the departure of Jordan Gabriel, who is wanted by Sunderland and Blackpool.
There are perhaps other areas of the squad which need to be worked on first, though, with Osei-Tutu having to play at left-back due to no recognised option in that position at the moment.
Here, we take a look at what Forest fans have made of this news regarding Cannon…
Would be a great signing this

Think this guy looks a decent buy (assuming it’s a buy) but seems a strange one considering the Tutu loan whilst still pursuing a LB….

Tbf we're not gonna pass up the chance to sign a highly rated back just because we need a left back more
