‘Would be a great signing’ – Plenty of West Brom fans react to emerging transfer news

According to John Percy of the Daily Telegraph, Brentford playmaker Romaine Sawyers is a transfer target for West Bromwich Albion.

The 27-year-old has been an integral player for the Bees since arriving from Walsall under Dean Smith in 2016, making over 130 appearances for the club and being given the captain’s armband on numerous occasions.

But with only one year left on his current deal at Griffin Park, Sawyers’ future is up in the air, and a host of high-profile clubs have already been linked with his signature this summer.

Leeds United and Celtic are among those that have been credited with an interest in the versatile midfielder, but now, West Brom are believed to be keen on the Birmingham-born playmaker.

The Baggies have already added a creative midfielder to their squad this summer, in the form of Benfica midfielder Filip Krovinovic, but a £3m move for Sawyers could now well be on the horizon.

Albion lost a bit of flair and spark going forward after Harvey Barnes returned to Leicester City last year, but after establishing himself as one of the best number 10s in the league, West Brom fans are likely to be delighted with this transfer deal if it materialises.

Here, we take a look at their reactions to this potential transfer move…
