Leeds' Kalvin Phillips is being tipped to leave Elland Road this summer, with several Premier League clubs interested in adding him to their midfield.

Wolves are the latest club to show an interest, according to Football Insider. They join Aston Villa and Bournemouth as the other clubs chasing the 23-year-old.

The Leeds academy product has been ever-present for the club ever since breaking into the side in the 2016/17 season.

He has made 130 appearances for the club, scoring ten goals, and may feel that it is time to move on as he has repaid the faith shown in him.

Wolves used the least amount of players in the Premier League last season, and at times their midfield options seemed threadbare. Phillips faces a tough task to break into a midfield consisting of Joao Moutinho and Ruben Neves, but he will be confident in his ability to do so.

Here, our writers discuss whether it would be a good move for Wolves to bring him to Molyneux...

George Brooks

"I think Phillips would be a great signing for Wolves.

"He was outstanding for Leeds in the Championship last season and I believe he's got what it takes to make the step up to the Premier League.

"Marcelo Bielsa was able to get the best out of him last season, after turning him into a defensive midfielder and I think a coach like Nuno Espirito Santo will be able to improve him even more.

"He's still got two years remaining on his contract at Elland Road though, so Wolves may struggle to get him."

Toby Wilding

"I think this would be a good signing for Wolves.

"Phillips is a very solid midfielder, and one who would strengthen that area of the park significantly for Wolves.

"You feel he is ready for the Premier League, and with Wolves - who used fewer players than any other Premier League side last season - potentially looking at a European campaign next year, they will need to add to their squad in order to compete on even more fronts next time around."

Tommy Joyce

"After Kalvin Phillips' great season at Leeds, it's hard to imagine how this wouldn't be a good signing for Wolves.

"While probably not suiting the Moutinho or Neves role in that 3-4-3 system, Kalvin Phillips would add some steel to the midfield.

"The biggest stumbling block would be the fee that Leeds demand, and whether it would be justifiable to spend that much on him.

"£14million has been talked about so far, but considering how important he is to Leeds and the way they play the club could demand more than that."
