Leeds United fans plummeted back down earth on Saturday following last weekend’s impressive display against Millwall, losing 1-0 to Birmingham City at St. Andrews.

It was a loss that, coupled with Sheffield United’s win against Preston, saw them slip out of the automatic promotion places with just six matches of the season remaining.

Despite there still being plenty to play for, it seems that the Whites’ attention is already starting to turn to the summer transfer window, if reports are to be believed.

And it is a Championship rival they plan on raiding, with Reading’s John Swift the man to attract attention from Bielsa according to Football Insider.

Swift, who has scored four times in 37 appearances this season, still has three-and-a-half years remaining on his deal at the Madjeski.

But would he prove a good signing for Leeds?

We discuss…

George Harbey

“It would be a very useful addition.

“Leeds really do need another playmaker to challenge the likes of Hernandez and Klich, and Swift fits the bill.

“He has been a standout performer for Reading this season and would be a clever signing by Bielsa.”

Toby Wilding

"While it's hard to see him going straight in at Elland Road a a regular, Swift would still be a good option to have.

"Injuries have left Leeds sweating on their options at times this season, but those nerves would be eased some what if they had a player like Swift ready to step in."

Chris Gallagher

“Slightly underwhelming.

“Swift is a decent player but I feel that Leeds should be aiming higher than that.

“He does suit their style of play and could do well but they should be looking for a higher quality of player.”
