Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa has been presented with a decision to make over personnel after Football Insider reported that the Whites have been offered striker Oumar Niasse on a loan deal from Everton until the end of this season.

The Senegal international signed for Everton in February 2016 from Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow, but has featured just 40 times for the Merseyside outfit over that time, scoring nine goals and providing four assists and now the Toffees look prepared to loan the Senegalese striker out ahead of his contract running down in the summer.

So should Leeds look to snap up Niasse on-loan?

We discuss.........

Ned Holmes

"Definitely. This is the sort of deal that could help kickstart their season.

"The Whites lost Nketiah at the start of the month and their lack of striking option on the bench hurt them against QPR, as Bielsa had little power to change things in the final third.

"They need to sign a replacement striker this month and I think Niasse could be an interesting addition.

"He has been out of favour at Everton this season but scored in both of his EFL Trophy games appearances and has proven his sharpness in previous seasons.

"At this point, the Whites need to be able to change things up and I think Niasse could help them do that."

“When you consider Leeds’ recent woes in-front of goal, it could be argued that it may be worth taking a risk on Niasse this month.

“Given that the club only have one out-and-out senior striker available to them in the form of Patrick Bamford, it is imperative that they strengthen in this particular area during the transfer window.

“Although Bamford’s build-up play is exemplary, his lack of consistency when it comes to taking chances is extremely concerning with his performance against QPR on Saturday highlighting this particular issue.

“Providing that Niasse is able to hit the ground running at Elland Road, he may end up being the difference between the club securing automatic promotion in May or having to settle for a place in the play-offs for the second season in succession.”

George Harbey

"I don't think that Leeds should sign Niasse - there are certainly better options out there for the Whites to go and get.

"Niasse is 29 years of age and he just hasn't scored enough goals in his career to make me think that he would improve Leeds' chances of promotion to the Premier League.

"Just because a club like Everton have offered a player to Leeds, that doesn't mean Leeds should accept it for the sake of it, as that would be the easy way out.

"This is a massive decision for Leeds as signing a striker could be make or break when it comes to promotion, so they need to make sure that the striker they sign is absolutely the right addition."
