Leeds United have made an excellent start to the season and are yet to be defeated under new manager Thomas Christiansen.

Many have suggested that this summer has been Leeds' best ever transfer window after the start they've made, with players like Samu Saiz, Ezgjan Alioski and Felix Wiedwald all impressing in the opening weeks.

Pundits never really earmarked the Peacocks as a side who would be up there challenging for promotion this season, especially given that manager Garry Monk, who brought them such success last season, had departed for Middlesbrough.

The biggest challenge at Elland Road now will now be replacing last season's player of the year Chris Wood, who left for Burnley in the final weeks of the transfer window.

Their defence has also looked a tad thin and they could use more depth at the back.

With that in mind, here are TWO free agents Leeds should take a look at....

Jan Kirchhoff

You can only imagine that Jan Kirchoff must have been on big money at Sunderland, because it's bewildering that he was released by the club coming into this season.

Kirchoff can play at centre back or in defensive midfield.

Joining the Black Cats in January 2016 from Bayern Munich, he played a pivotal role in keeping the club in the Premier League.

If he can overcome his injury woes, Kirchoff would be an excellent player at this level and would add depth to Leeds's back line, with only three senior centre backs to choose from.

Giuseppe Rossi

Unfortunately, Giuseppe Rossi is the player that never was. A striker who showed such promise in his days in England with Manchester United, his career has been crippled by injury problems.

The Italian's best ever career spell was with Villarreal in Spain, where he made 136 appearances and scored 54 goals, but he has struggled to establish himself ever since.

Now a free agent, Rossi would be a quality addition for Leeds if they can keep him fit, and if they can't, they have Jay-Roy Grot and Pierre-Michel Lassoga to choose from.
