Paul Clement can count himself and his Reading side unlucky to have lost their Championship opener against Derby County on Friday night.

The Royals were the better side for most of the match and put on a display that will give their fans much more confidence than they had before kick-off.

But despite the improved performance, the club will be keen to strengthen their squad more before the end of the transfer window on Thursday.

One player they are reportedly keen to bring in is Swansea City midfielder Jay Fulton.

Fulton spent the second half of last season on loan with Wigan Athletic in League One but only made five appearances in a frustrating season.

But he played 85 minutes of the Swans opener as Graham Potter's side came from behind to be Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Saturday.

Would the 24-year-old be a good signing for the Royals?

We discuss...

George Dagless

Worth a go.

Fulton is a decent player but needs the minutes to really kick on.

Certainly, he'd get more of them at Reading.

Gary Hutchinson

I think so, yes. Fulton is still relatively young, but not too young that he's a slow burner. He's showed lots of promise but as yet, hasn't had a decent run of games in the Championship.

Having watched Reading properly this weekend I think he'd fit in well there. There are the early signs of a dark horse in the Reading side and a few clever additions will bring that out further.

Jay Taylor

He started for Swansea on the weekend which was a surprise and played 85 minutes.

The midfielder would add something that Reading are lacking.

Paul Clement knows about the midfielder after his time at Swansea last season and will know what he can do.

It seems like a sensible move.

Alfie Burns

This could be a good addition to Reading’s squad.

Reading surprised me on Friday, but they are still lacking in certain areas.

Someone like Fulton could solve a few issues.
