Leeds United dropped to third in the Championship after they lost 2-1 at home to ten-man Wigan in what was an awful afternoon for the Whites.

Cedric Kipre was harshly sent off for the visitors and although Pablo Hernandez missed the resulting penalty, Patrick Bamford struck shortly after and it seemed a case of how many Marcelo Bielsa's men would win by.

Yet, Paul Cook's side stood firm and Gavin Massey scored twice to give them a shock lead.

After that, the Yorkshire outfit relentlessly pushed for an equaliser but they seemed to lack that touch of class in the final third, with the usually reliable Hernandez off form.

The classy Spaniard has undoubtedly been Leeds' best player in an attacking sense, with 12 goals and 12 assists this season.

But, he wasn't at it yesterday, with Wigan closing his space down well but even in possession he lacked the cutting edge that has set him apart from most in the league.
