Norwich City's promotion bid could take a serious blow as it emerged that centre-back, Timm Klose has emerged as target for Bundesliga side, Hannover, according to 442.

The German publication claim that Hannover are identified the Canaries defender as one of their top targets in January as they look to shore up a leaky defence as quickly as possible.

Klose's current deal at Norwich expires at the end of the season, which will be a huge concern for Canaries supporters, many of whom will be hoping that he can play a crucial role in their promotion bid.

He has made 20 starts in total for Daniel Farke's side in this years campaign and if Norwich are to have any ambition of being promoted this season, then they will need to hold onto Klose.

This isn't the first of Hannover's interest, with the German side previously registering their interest in the summer, but the Swiss defender opted to stay at Carrow Road.

That decision has proved to be the right decision, as Norwich currently sit top of the Championship table heading into the festive period.

It's sure to be a nervous wait for Norwich supporters in January, many of whom will be hoping that the club can hold onto Klose for the remainder of the season.

If they are to win promotion to the Premier League this season with Klose in the side, then he will surely be tempted to sign a new deal at Carrow Road.

The Verdict:

This would be a huge blow to Norwich's promotion chances.

Klose has been a pivotal member of Daniel Farke's side and they will need to do everything they can to hold onto him, if they are to have any chance of winning promotion this season.

If they do decide to cash in on the centre-back, then I seriously fear that the Canaries could drop out of the top six, with Klose's influence on this team being a crucial one.
