Preston North End's Ben Pearson is a target for Premier League sides Burnley and Brighton, according to HITC.

The 23-year-old was one of North End's best performers last season assisting two goals during his 35 appearances.

Averaging 54 passes per game, Stoke manager Gary Rowett is also an admirer of the marauding midfielder, according to the Stoke Sentenial.

Preston are in no need to sell their better players but amidst Premier League interest, the 23-year-old could be forgiven for wanting a top-flight move.

The former Manchester United youth player was almost an ever-present in Alex Neil's side last year, as Preston look to keep hold of their impressive midfielder.

The Verdict

If Ben Pearson is to leave he will have earned the right to try his hand in the Premier League.

The midfielder was not only one of the better players in North End's side, but he was one of the most influential players in last season's Championship.

Preston boss Alex Neil will be reluctant to see his star midfielder go as he is instrumental in their plans this year, just like last.

North End should be ready for when bids to come in. If the 23-year-old stays it will be some sign of intent keeping hold of one of their better players.

Should he go, however, you would imagine it would be for a fairly high price.
