Derby County supporters appear to be in agreement that the Rams should be cautious in pursuing a potential loan move for Tottenham Hotspur defender Cameron Carter-Vickers this month.

Carter-Vickers has spent the first half of the season on loan at fellow Championship side Stoke City, where he has made 12 league appearances so far playing at both right-back and in the centre of defence, but the 22-year-old has struggled to show any consistent form for the Potters and has found his game time limited in the last few weeks under Michael O'Neill.

The Guardian have reported that Carter-Vickers is set to be recalled by Tottenham from his loan spell with Stoke and be sent straight back out on loan to Derby for the second half of the campaign, with Cocu's side in need of strengthening their defensive options in the winter window.

The Rams have suffered problems in defence during the first half of the season, with Cocu's side losing club captain Richard Keogh earlier on in the campaign.

That problem has been made worse by Brighton and Hove Albion loanee Matt Clarke suffering a knee injury in their defeat at Nottingham Forest, which saw him sidelined for a few weeks.

Carter-Vickers' form during the first half of the season for Stoke was inconsistent and he was guilty of making a few individual errors that cost the Potters at times during matches, and some Derby supporters are concerned that the Rams are moving for a player that could not get in a side who are bellow them in the table.

Here we take a look at what many Derby fans have said about the prospect of signing Carter-Vickers on Twitter...
