It's been a pretty average season so far for QPR and things have seemingly got that little bit more difficult with some worrying FFP news coming to light.

The Financial Fair Play issue has been overhanging the club for some time and, according to the club's website, their latest claim against the fine they received for over-spending in the Premier League - according to the FFP rules - has been rejected.

The R's were handed the sanction after their Premier League spell and the money they spent during that time but the club has felt that it's been disproportionate to the apparent offence. Indeed, an arbitral panel has thrown out the claim, with the club posting on their site:

"An arbitral panel dismissed QPR’s claim that the English Football League’s 2012 Financial Fair Play Rules were unlawful under Competition Law, and also found that the fine levied by the EFL on the Club was not disproportionate."

A blow for the R's away from the pitch, then, but this does not appear to be the end of the saga just yet. Further on in the club's update on their site, Lee Hoos has revealed that they plan to appeal this decision too:

"QPR Chief Executive Officer Lee Hoos has confirmed the club will appeal the decision. "He said: We are understandably disappointed with the decision. “We are currently examining our next steps, but we will be appealing. “However, until the matter is resolved in full, we are not in a position to provide any further comment. "QPR and the EFL will not be making any further comment on this matter at the present time."

It's a tough process for the R's to find themselves in, but until this appeal is now heard there is no real time or point to worry.

The Verdict

This is worrying for the R's and they'll be hoping it can be resolved in a positive fashion.

They may feel aggrieved that they are in trouble when the likes of PSG do not seem to be right now and so it remains to be seen as to what happens next.
