Swansea City boss Paul Clement has confirmed that he is considering returning for Barnsley defender Andy Yiadom in January, after a summer deal feel through when paperwork was not submitted in time.

The Ghanaian full-back had been on the verge of completing a move to south Wales, but the deal failed to materialise, and Yiadom will remain in south Yorkshire until at least January.

ClubCall suggest that the former Bayern Munich assistant boss remains keen on a deal however, and manager Paul Heckingbottom may have to brace himself for further interest in the player.

The London-born 25-year-old joined the Tykes last year after four years in League Two with Barnet, and has become a key member of the squad at Oakwell.

The Verdict: Yiadom is a quality player, and the fact that he has been able to force his way into the Ghanaian national team despite playing in the second tier is a wonderful achievement.

Clement is in the market for more options at full-back, and Yiadom appears to fit the bill perfectly.

Heckingbottom expected to lose the player this summer, and has prepared his squad to account for this, so the Barnsley side should not be affected too much.

The Oakwell outfit have just enjoyed the services of their key man a few months longer than anticipated, and Heckingbottom will be grateful for his commitment to the club during the spell.

Barnsley fans, will your back-line cope when Yiadom finally departs?
