Barnsley finally got back to winning ways against Derby in midweek and they could prove to be an extremely valuable points for the side, as they look to try and escape relegation having relieved Markus Schopp of his duties as boss.

They’re now three from the bottom of the Championship table but are only one point off escaping the drop zone as things stand. They’ll want to get some more points on the board to try and pull off an escape for the time being – and their next tie is a huge crunch clash against relegation rivals Hull.

If the Tykes lose this battle, then it will certainly be costly with the Tigers currently below them. The importance of this tie therefore cannot be understated – and they’ll need to pick the perfect XI then to ensure they get the victory.

Here then is our predicted XI for the game:

Why change a winning lineup? Before Barnsley’s win over Derby, the club had not won in their last seven Championship fixtures.

If they have found a winning formula, then they should stick to it for now. Don’t fix what isn’t broken is the old saying and it could be worth following that advice here.

Callum Brittain was outstanding in the tie against the Rams and not only assisted both goals but created more chances than anyone else on the field. You don’t score if you don’t create for yourself and the 24-year-old was a real creative force in midweek – so should be undroppable.

Alongside him in the middle was Aaron Leya Iseka, who looked equally as bright. The 23-year-old even managed to get himself on the scoresheet and if he can repeat his performance against Derby against the Tigers, then it should go a long way towards helping them win again this weekend.

Cauley Woodrow was subdued against the side but should retain his place due to his work in attack and the fact that the 26-year-old is always capable of popping up with a goal.

In terms of the backline, you can’t really fault any of the three in the centre for their effort in holding Derby to just the one goal and goalkeeper Bradley Collins did well on a few occasions to keep the Rams from bagging any more than they did – so should also remain in-between the sticks.
