It has been far from an easy year for Bolton Wanderers and their fans but it looks like their torment may be drawing to a close. 

Last season saw them comfortably relegated from the Championship back into League One as off-field problems continued to engulf them with players and staff going without pay on more than one occasion.

It even led to the cancellation of their home fixture with Brentford after the first-team squad went on strike and they have been handed a 12-point penalty at the start of their League One adventure.

But last week the club revealed that a deal had been agreed for the sale of the club with a group called Football Ventures, signalling the end of Ken Anderson's reign of error.

And some further details emerged on Thursday when Alan Nixon of The Sun reported that manager Phil Parkinson would be happy to stay if the deal were to go through.
