‘Wonderful’, ‘Brilliant’ – Many Nottingham Forest fans react to 21-year-old’s display at Huddersfield

Nottingham Forest recorded their first win of the season this afternoon, with the Reds beating Huddersfield Town by two goals to nil.

Steven Reid was placed in interim charge for this one, following the sacking of Chris Hughton earlier this week.

But a formation change seemed to inspire the Reds, and they took a deserved lead when Lewis Grabban guided his header past Lee Nicholls.

Nicholls’ afternoon went from bad to worse straight after the interval, with Joe Lolley’s effort finding its way into the net via a deflection off the goalkeeper.

Four changes were named to the starting line-up, with Djed Spence returning to the side after being ineligible to face parent club Middlesbrough in midweek.

Spence was one of the best players for Forest, too, showing plenty of presence going forward and winning his fair share of duels.

Spence also kept Josh Koroma and Harry Toffolo quiet down the left-hand side, before he was replaced late on.

If Forest are to stick with the wing-back system, you’d imagine that Spence will be a key player going forward.

Here, we take a look at what Forest fans made of his performance…
