Wolverhampton Wanderers are a team that could be on their way to turmoil, if things aren’t resolved at the club in the very near future.

The club’s new Chinese investors took the decision to sack manager Walter Zenga after a somewhat poor run of results, but the decision to do so has left the club manager-less going into a very busy spell indeed.

It was tough on the Italian, who had done a decent job during his tenure at Molineux, guiding his team to impressive wins over Birmingham City and away at Newcastle United.

But it was the results in-between that cost him his job but it’s safe to say there are pretty mixed feelings on the decision to relieve him of his duties.

In this article, we want to see if there are any reasons why the board should have kept him on in the Black Country.

So with that in mind, here’s TWO reasons why Wolves will regret sacking Walter Zenga…

Sacking your manager mid-season is always going to be a tricky decision to make, especially with the importance of having a good run-up to Christmas.

And even before the festive period begins, Wolves have a deadly run of fixtures over the next couple of weeks that see them face fellow strugglers Derby County, surprise package Preston North End before finishing November with a home tie over Sheffield Wednesday.

Interim manager Rob Edwards has the tough task of getting points on the board whilst the powers that be decided on the new man but without any real managerial experience, it’s going to be tough.

The club’s inability to be patient could cost them again

Since Mick McCarthy’s six-year spell at the club between 2006 and 2012, Wolves have been getting through managers like there is no tomorrow.

The likes of Stale Stolbakken, Dean Saunders and Terry Connor have all come in and left pretty soon after, with two more joining the list of axed Wolves managers in the past four years.

This kind of impatience has caused the club to struggle to find any sort of longevity in recent years, highlighted in their spell in League One a couple of years ago.

Zenga might have been sporadic, but he was a man full of charisma that could, with more time, have turned things back around.
