Wolves are tracking right-back Daniel Opare who is out of contract with Bundesliga side Augsburg in the summer.

Nuno Espirito Santo only has Matt Doherty as a right wing-back option at the club after summer signing Phil Ofosu-Ayeh has struggled with injuries.

The 26-year old joined the club at the start of the campaign on a free from Braunschweig, however he hasn't managed to play one game for Wolves because of injury.

Therefore, a new signing in that position is sure to be a priority and Ghana soccernet suggest that Opare is the man that Santo wants.

As mentioned, the Ghana international is out of contract in the summer and angered his current side after he was caught speaking to rivals Schalke about a potential transfer.

As well as that, Opare has been linked with a host of clubs in England including Leicester City and Stoke. The Potters in particular were said to be willing to pay £3m for the defender last month.

Given that, it would be something of a coup for Wolves to land the 27-year old in an area they will desperately want to strenghten.

The Verdict

Daniel Opare would be a very good signing for Wolves although you would imagine any potential deal will only happen if the side win promotion as expected.

He has the perfect qualities to excel in the 3-4-3 formation that Santo adopts with real pace and a desire to get forward.

However, there will be serious competition for his signature both from fellow English clubs and abroad given Opare will be available on a free.
