Walker, 20, has previously trained with the Black Country club last month, and it is understood that he impressed.

The Championship side will make a decision to sign the player, based on his performance in the friendly tonight against Aston Villa.

Walker has seemingly fallen out of favour at Victoria Road after losing his place to Michael Woods.

Before Ronnie Moore took over at the club, he was influential part in their 2013/2014 season making 42 appearances and was called up to the England under-18 squad.

The midfielder has made 16 appearances this season, scoring just one goal in League Two this season – and it seems that a major move to Championship side Wolves could be on the horizon.

Wolves currently occupy 12th place in the Championship and are looking for players to bolster their squad for a late play-off push.

Kenny Jackett’s side face struggling Bolton Wanderers at Molinuex in their next Sky Bet Championship fixture.
