Wolves trio set for January exits as Nuno reshapes

According to reliable journalist, Tim Nash, Wolverhampton Wanderers are looking to move on Ben Marshall, Michal Zyro and Prince Oniangue this month, as Nuno Espirito Santo reshapes his squad ahead of the second-half of the season.

Wolves have already been active in the transfer window this month, announcing the arrival of Rafa Mir, whilst Nash is also reporting that Nuno is looking to welcome former striker, Robbie Keane, back to Molineux on a short-term deal.

However, departures are expected this month, with Marshall, Zyro and Oniangue all players expected to be sacrificed, as Wolves rebuild once again.

Marshall has found himself on the fringes this season, with the 26-year-old limited to just nine appearances across all competitions and out of Nuno’s matchday squad in Wolves’ last 10 Championship fixtures.

Like Marshall, Zyro has been on the fringes of Nuno’s first-team, and the forward will be moved on over the course of the window if possible, whilst Oniangue’s days at Molineux seem numbered, having not featured yet under Nuno this season for Wolves.

Nuno’s side currently sit 12 points clear at the top of the Championship table following Tuesday night’s 3-0 victory over Brentford.

Wolves take a break from Championship action this weekend, facing Swansea City in the FA Cup.

The Verdict

Wolves are clearly looking to use the January transfer window as an early opportunity to remould their squad ahead of next season, when it is looking likely they will be back in the top-flight.

Nuno is looking to move some fringe players out of Molineux, replacing them with players who can improve the starting XI and make the step up into the Premier League next year.

It is already shaping into a positive month for Wolves.
