Wolves look set to make a sensational swoop for Burnley striker Andre Gray, according to the Mirror.
The 26-year-old has been one of the standout performers for the Clarets since his move from Brentford, first firing them to promotion and then last season seeing his goals and performances help the Lancashire club preserve their top flight status.
However, it now looks like Gray is a wanted man, and despite West Ham in the running for his signature, Wolves are sensationally looking to trump the Hammers with a £2om bid of their own.
It would be yet another huge statement of intent from Wolves’ owners, who have already splashed around £3om this summer as the club looks to avoid a repeat of last season and stay well clear of the drop-zone in the Championship.
Gray has an excellent record for Burnley, with a goal more or less every two games. His manager Sean Dyche would surely not want to lose one of his star talents, but the club could be hard pressed to reject a bid which many simply will not have seen coming.
