Championship Wolves will compete with Premier League West Brom to sign Bournemouth striker Benik Afobe, according to the Sun.

The striker has already had a spell with Wolves prior to his big money move to Bournemouth back in January 2016, but has fallen down the pecking order with the Premier League club and could well be on the move in January once again if Eddie Howe chooses to accept a bid.

The DR Congo international will be in demand though, and the report also claims that Tony Pulis and West Brom are keen on signing the striker.

Afobe hit over 20 goals during his first spell with Wolves and it was this form which earnt him the move to the Premier League club with Eddie Howe.

It is thought Afobe would prefer to stay in the Premier League, but a move back to his former club could well be something which appeals to him with the high flying Wolves spending big as they look for a return to the top flight under Nuno Espirito Santo.

The Verdict

Afobe is a quality Championship striker and would no doubt bag the goals back at this level.

Bournemouth will be wanting to recoup their money though, and Wolves will no doubt have to splash the cash once more to land their target.
